The building sector accounts for almost one-third of total energy consumption resulting in CO2 emissions, making it necessary to transform the building sector into a more energy-efficient and sustainable one in order to reach the SDGs and targets of the Paris Climate Agreement.

On the one hand, the energy requirement must be minimized by measures on the building envelope. Passive houses require hardly any energy input from the outside due to high thermal insulation, making buildings extremely energy-efficient. On the other hand, the remaining demand for heating and cooling must be met with technologies that result in low CO2 emissions. Renewable energies in the field of building heating and cooling are mature and economically feasible. It is important to develop individual solutions that meet the specific building requirements and are feasible at the location.

Join the conversation during our Energy Council Digital Panel on Thursday, July 1st, 2021 at 09:00 -10:30 o’clock CEST to dive deeper into innovative concepts and future-changing solutions in the building sector, together with four international experts. The Energy Council Director Marcus Wiemann will join this talk and give the introduction.
